Carolyn Respess Rose

Carolyn Respess Rose peacefully went to her Heavenly home on August 20, 2023. She was born to Cecil and Mildred Respass in Beaufort County, NC on December 25, 1937. She was married to Donald Roderick Rose, Sr. in 1956 and enjoyed 49 years of marriage before being preceded in death by him. She was preceded in death by her brother Gerald. She is survived by 4 siblings (Nolan, Ray, Durwood & Norma Jean), 3 children (Donna, Debbie & Rod) and 6 grandchildren (Carly, Ash, Erick, Rachel, Liza & Ella). 

Visitation will be at 2:00 - 3:00 PM on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at First Baptist Church - Tarboro with the Memorial service following at 3:00 PM.

Carolyn was a graduate of Pantego High school in 1956. She went on to study at East Carolina, graduating in 1959. She worked as a teacher for 30 years before retiring. In retirement she ensured the family farmland was looked after, the family estate was well managed and ran her own inspirational speaking company called Rose Talk. She was a strong and vibrant lady. 

Throughout her years, Carolyn found an amazing number of friends, acquaintances, and passions. She was happiest spending time with her siblings, children, grandchildren, extended family, and friends. You could say she was a people person and until the last year of her life was constantly seen buzzing around Tarboro and eastern North Carolina. Carolyn was a Christian and active in her church community at the First Baptist Church - Tarboro. She generously supported her family and several charitable causes.
