Christopher Scott passed away peacefully on January 18, 2022, at the age of 74 after a courageous battle with kidney failure and daily home dialysis and a recent battle of cancer, surrounded by family who will continue to honor his legacy by living life to the fullest.
He was a member of the Hamilton Church of Christ, Hamilton, N.C. Chris shared his passion for spending time with family over the years, doing carpentry woodwork and cooking. The simplest pleasure in life was coloring, it brought great joy to him. He found great happiness in his daily activities of listening to any thing George Jones sang or every western movie with John Wayne. But most of all he found daily happiness listing to the pitter patter of little feet running to his room with big smiles from Christopher, Madalyn each morning. A special thanks to Sarah Taffer (his granddaughter) who never left his side since she was knee high.
Chris is survived by wife Anne of 55 years of marriage, sons, Jimmy Scott (Tina) of Oak City, Ray Scott (Kelly) of Winterville; daughter, Tammy Whitfield (Dusty) of Oak City; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Boggs (Gene) of Williamston, Lou Ella Stalls (Bobby) of Spring Hope; brother, William Allen Scott (Carolyn) of Tarboro.
Chris was preceded by parents, William and Forleter Scott and stepmother Pearl Scott; daughter, Sarah Faye Snyder; sisters, Velma and Odell Scott; brother, Herbert Scott.
Graveside service will be held Monday, January 24, 2022, Hamilton Cemetery at 11:00 am with Pastor Warren Grubbs officiating.
The family will receive friends at Carlisle Funeral Home, Tarboro, N.C. on Sunday, January 23, 2022, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm and other times at the home of Jimmy Scott.
