Cynthia Edwards Eure

Cynthia Edwards Eure, 83 of Rocky Mount, passed peacefully on Thursday, May 28, 2020 while residing at Edgecombe Health and Rehab, Tarboro, NC.

She was the daughter of the late John Henry and Winnifred O’Neal Edwards of Edgecombe County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Lee Eure; son Sheldon Lee Eure; sister, Louise Edwards Norris; and brother, Victor Edwards.

Cynthia leaves to cherish her memory, her sister-in-law, Cathy Gilbert; nieces, Jeanette Norris-Ingram (Randy); Winnifred Norris-Stanley; nephews, Ray, Roy, and Wayne Edwards. (The boys called her “Aunt Woopie,” a name their dad gave her at a young age.)

Cynthia was a registered nurse and was dedicated to all of her patients with love and tender care. Family and friends were blessed by her generosity, enjoying her many stories that she would often share. She had a lasting willingness to listen and never forgot anything. Her loss will be a sacrifice to each of us, having enjoyed her sacred gift of love.

Cynthia’s faith and love for the Lord was very important to her and she instilled that faith and love for Jesus in her family and friends.

Her nieces would like to thank the caregivers of Edgecombe Health and Rehabilitation for their love, support and care of Cynthia.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at Carlisle Funeral Home from 1:00-2:30 PM. A graveside will follow in Pineview Cemetery, Rocky Mount at 3:00 PM on Tuesday. Anyone who wishes to visit with Cynthia is also welcome to the funeral home on Monday, June 1 from 1:00-5:00 PM. The family will receive guests other times at the home of Jeanette and Randy Ingram, 6265 NC Hwy. 122 N, Hobgood, NC.
