Mrs. Dolores Manning Harper, age 70 of Tarboro, passed away on May 29th, 2019 at her home.
Dolores was a loving mother and wife. She received her Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Foreign Language from East Carolina University. She spoke and taught three languages. She also enjoyed collecting stamps, sewing, studied Judo and working with hunter safety and the Royal Rangers. Trips to Emerald Isle were her favorite throughout all of her travels. She had a love for dogs and had several through the years. Dolores will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bobby Brooks Harper; parents Ruby James Manning and James Hazelwood Manning; brother James Harvey Manning.
Dolores is survived by her son Chadwick Brooks Harper and his fiancée Mary Katherine Taylor; grandson Jacob William Harper; nieces Leslie Nichole Harper, Shirley Holiday and husband John, Tiffany Manning Turner and husband Jason; nephew James Tyler Manning and wife Heather; sister-in-law Jackie Wells Manning; and several great nieces and nephews. The family would like to say a special thank you to Gordon and Judy Braxton and the Falkland Church of God for all their love and support.
A Celebration of Dolores’s Life will be held Sunday, June 2, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Carlisle Funeral Home with the Reverend Gordon Braxton officiating. The family will be receiving friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.The interment will follow in Pineview Cemetery, Pinetops.
