Dorothy O’Neal “Dot” Cross, 86, went to be with her heavenly father on Friday, December 18, 2020.
She was born on June 14, 1934, the second of four daughters of Frank and Glendora Page O’Neal.
She was preceded in death by her late husband Carl Wayne “Boochie” Cross.
She is survived by her children: Susan Cross Ainsley and husband Charles, Carl Wayne Cross Jr. and wife Sherry, all of Tarboro; grandchildren Carla Ainsley Fleming (Brendan) of Greenville, Lauren Ainsley Gregory (Chris) of Falkland, Taylor Ainsley (Emily) of Falkland, Kelsey Cross Wilson (Dan) of Scotland Neck, Erin Cross Hopkins (Ryan) of Oak City; and nine loving great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her only surviving sister Carol O’Neal Heath (Ronnie) of Tarboro.
Dot was employed by Carolina Telephone (Sprint) and retired with 38 years of service. She loved to fish with her husband Boochie and was a devoted grandmother to her grandchildren, never missing a ball game or swim meet.
A Celebration of Dorothy’s Life will be held graveside at 2:00 PM on Sunday December 20th, 2020 at Greenwood Cemetery in Tarboro with the Reverend Johnnie Hendricks officiating.
