Elsie Marie (Martin) Whitehurst

Mrs. Elsie Marie Martin Whitehurst, age79, of Tarboro passed away in the Vidant Edgecombe Hospital on February 22, 2019.

She is preceded in death by her father Taft Martin , mother Ina Mae Merritt Martin, son Teddy Ray Medford, daughter Linda Gail Medford Cook, brother Buddy Martin and sister Jean Harrington.

She is survived by her son Billy Ray Medford of Rocky Mount, two daughters Teresa Mendenhall Ruffin of Princeville and Susan Whitehurst Deal and husband David of Tarboro, grandchildren John Cook and wife Kristy, Summer Cook, Miranda Cook and Emily Cook, Cindy Mendenhall, Kiara Mendenhall, Damien Mendenhall, Sean Adamski, Annie Mendenhall, Mircale Andrews, Paige Medford, Hayden Ezzell, Ryder Ezzell, Clara Williams, Whitney Barfield and husband David, Hannah Barfield, Tori Medford, Cheyenne Hill, Katie Hill, Eddie Ray Hill;, Cody Medford and fiancee Allyson Swinson, Brenten Medford, Mckenzie Whitehurst, sisters Nancy Taylor and Juanita Baker and husband Joe and special family member Melanie Whitfield Johnson.

A Celebration of Elsie Marie’s Life will be held Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at 2 Pm in the Chapel of Carlisle Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the service and other times at the home of Susan Deal, 3700 Durham Place, Tarboro, NC 27886

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Brentwood Pentecostal Holiness Church, 3608 North Main Street, Tarboro, NC 27886
