Fredrick Robert McKeel, Jr. “Robbie”, age 59, passed away peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Friday, September 17, 2021 at his residence.
He was born March 2, 1962 at Womack Army Hospital, Fort Bragg, NC to Marie Jefferson McKeel and Fredrick Robert McKeel.
Robbie attended Tarboro High School and spent a short time in the military where he first met his wife of 18 years Tamara G. McKeel. He was always good with his hands from woodworking, gardening, auto mechanics and working with HVAC where he spent most of his career. Robbie loved fishing and being on the water (but did not like to eat fish). Though he never had any children of his own, he loved children and took great pride in showing off his grandchildren to anyone who would look and listen.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Hope Range West and Lavonne McKeel.
He is survived by his wife, Tamara Gardner McKeel and stepdaughter LeAnn Shirley Perez (Angel) and grandchildren Liam, Voianca and Selena Starr. He is also survived by his sisters Kathryn “Kathy” Coker (Josh), Colleen “Corky” Dew; nieces and nephews Stephanie Sparks, Jaime Dew, Sharon Coker, Kim Dew Winders, Daniel Coker, and Adam Coker; and a host of great nieces and nephews.
There will be a celebration of his life on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at the gravesite in Queen Anne Cemetery in Fountain (with Pastor Steve Evans officiating) at 3:00 PM for anyone who wishes to attend.
