Mr. George “Bill” Boseman, Jr., age 85 of Tarboro, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2020 at Vidant Edgecombe Hospital with his loving family surrounding him.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Carlisle Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Tarboro, N.C.
Bill, as he was called by many, always thought of others. His passion was working in his yard and his garden in the spring and summer months. He always planted more than he could use and was delighted to give it away to others.
He was also a very active hunter and fisherman. He hunted as recent as this past spring and had renewed his hunting license looking forward to hunting this fall.
Bill loved the Lord and was a member of Brentwood Pentecostal Holiness Church.
He was a loving husband to his wife Shirley for 62 years and a wonderful father to two daughters. He was a loving Papa to three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He also was a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by wife Shirley Jean Boseman; daughter, Angelia Boseman Goff; his mother and father, George and Virginia Boseman; brother, Mabrey Boseman; sisters, Elma Ruth Meeks and Pauline James.
He is survived by his loving family which includes his daughter Teresa Boseman Cherry and husband George, of Tarboro; three grandchildren, Christal Wooten and husband Dan, of Wilson; Christopher Course, Heather Goff (Matt); and a great-grandchild Ryan Stevey, of Tarboro.
