George Vernon Harris, Sr.

George V. Harris, 71, died at his home on Monday, May 25th, 2020. He was born March 4th, 1949 in Edgecombe County NC., the son of the late Robert L. Harris Sr. and Elizabeth D. Creckmore. George met and married the love of his life, Jeanne Lathe, and settled in Baltimore, MD. They were married for 42 years before losing his wife to an unexpected illness.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers David L. Harris, Stevie Harris and Danny L. Harris. He was also predeceased by sisters Evelyn Davis, Anita Robinson, Ruby Lowman and Jeannie Huffman. Surviving is his brother Robert L Harris of Md., sister Velda Andreone of VA., son George Harris Jr. of VA., and daughters Cheryl L. Harris and Dana M. Trimble, both of VA., five grandchildren, Bonita Knight, Kasey Knight, Caesar Harris, Mariah Trimble and Hannah Trimble, and four great-grandchildren.

George was full of life and everyone loved his laughter and funny comments. George never met a stranger and always gave to everyone before thinking of himself. He was one of the most generous and loving people that anyone knew. George will be greatly missed, and we will forever have an empty spot in our hearts.

The funeral service will be held on his family farm in North Carolina on Sunday, May 31st, 2020 at 2 PM.
