George was born on February 16, 1938 and raised in Tarboro. He was the son of the late Joseph Eugene and Mary Sessoms Manning.

He then started a Cummins as a tool maker where he was known as “Cuz”, he also called everyone Cuz. George retired from Cummins after 20 plus years. He was a very dedicated Moose Member where he loved to play Pool and Cards.
Out of his many names “Dunda” was his favorite that his granddaughter gave him that name some 30 years ago. He loved riding his grandbabies on the lawnmower and walking the twins who he nicknamed Pebbles & Bam Bam.
