Geraldine “Jerri” Ellis Boyette, 83, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2019.

Jerri was born in Edgecombe County on May 28, 1935 to Albert Grover Ellis and Chanie Mae Ellis.

Jerri loved her flowers and tending to them along with the hummingbirds that visited them.  She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral service will be held at 3:00pm on Monday, April 15, at Webbs Chapel Baptist Church with the Pastor Wade Parker and Billy Crabtree officiating. Burial will follow in Macclesfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives on Monday from 2:00-3:00pm at the church.

She was preceded in death by her parents Albert Grover Ellis and Chanie Mae Ellis; sister, Ann Marie Vick; husband, Thomas Leighton Boyette.

She is survived by her family, including children, Teresa Jefferys Varnell and her husband, Michael Ollen Varnell, Morris Ray “Jeff” Jefferys and wife, Ann Webb Jefferys, Thomas Leighton “Tom” Boyette, Jr; grandchildren, Stephanie Varnell Marquart and husband, Gregory John Marquart, Brandi Varnell Ellis and husband, Roscoe Nichols “Ross” Ellis, Cortney Leigh Varnell, Thomas Cole Jefferys, Amber Whitehurst and husband, Timmy Whitehurst, Nicole Boyette, Krystall Boyette; great-grandchildren, Drake Marquart, Broc Marquart, Kianna Payton, Wyatt Whitehurst, and Morgan O’Brien.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Webbs Chapel Baptist Church, 2771 Webbs Chapel Rd, Macclesfield, NC 27852.
