Ginger Radford Dew

Ginger Radford Dew, 72, of Tarboro, NC passed peacefully in her home, surrounded by love, on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 after a lengthy and well-fought battle with cancer.

Born May 11, 1950 in Wilson County to the late Addie Alleene Spivey and Alford Radford, Ginger moved to Tarboro as a child where she lived the remainder of her days to the fullest. 

Ginger was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, William Jefferson, Donald Jerry, and Wayne Radford. She leaves to cherish fond memories her beloved husband of nearly 52 years, Benjamin Dew of the home; son, Alford Dew (Theresa) and granddaughters, Ella and Emerson, of Raleigh, NC; sister Deborah Radford Worden of Tarboro, NC; and a host of special nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.

Meticulous by nature, Ginger took pride in everything she did and was quite the perfectionist. She kept her home and yard immaculate and was always willing to lend her very particular helping hand. Well-known for her delicious pies, cakes, and other baked goods, Ginger’s famous chocolate pie will always be a favorite of many!  Also a seamstress by hobby, her curtain projects, made with precision and love, have hung proudly in her home and the homes of friends and family for years. Ginger thoroughly enjoyed Friday night dinners out with friends, her weekly bridge games, and line dancing.  And anytime she was out and about, Ginger was always well-dressed and put together! 

Ginger had a great love for her friends and family and especially cherished her granddaughters, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She loved attending family gatherings and reunions with both sides of her very extended families! Ginger will be missed immensely by so many, but we know she is now whole and without discomfort, reunited and celebrating in Heaven with those who have gone before her. 

Prior to her death, Ginger made a special request to have donations made to the Edgecombe County Cancer Fund in lieu of flowers to help others undergoing cancer treatment. Please send love offerings to: ECU Health Cancer Center, 105 Hospital Drive, Tarboro, NC 27886-Memo: In Memory of Ginger Dew. The family will receive visitors at Carlisle Funeral Home in Tarboro, NC on Thursday, September 8, 2022 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, and other times at the home of Ben and Ginger Dew. 

A graveside celebration of life and internment will be held Friday, September 9, 2022 at 11:00am at Edgecombe Memorial Park in Tarboro, NC.
