James Louis Abrams, 80, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 25, 2020.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday at 3:30 PM in the Boyette Family Cemetery, Hobgood, NC with the Reverend James Cale officiating.

Born and raised in Edgecombe County, born to the late James Franklin Abrams and Florence Moore Harrell. James graduated from Atlantic Christian College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education/Math/Physical Education. He went on to teach and coach basketball at Stokes-Pactolus High School, where he was the best of the best at coaching basketball. He was a die-hard Duke Fan and never missed a basketball game on TV. He was the best husband to his beloved wife Teresa who he loved dearly. He was a wonderful daddy to his three girls and his only grandchild Marianna. Over his 80 years of life, he lived an amazing life and enjoyed life to the fullest. He made a lot of friends through the years. He will be missed by many.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 31 years, Teresa Boyette Abrams; daughters Gina Abrams Prince, of Macclesfield, Amanda Carroll Abrams, of Tarboro, Kailyn Yates Abrams, of Tarboro. He also left behind his only grandchild Marianna Claire Warren who was the apple of his eye; Brothers, Gerald Wayne Abrams (Beth), of Pinetops, sisters, Brenda Abrams Canady (Ron), of Macclesfield, Linda Abrams McNeil (Duncan), of Raeford; brother-in-law, Clayton Boyette (Sissy), of Hobgood; great-nieces, Hayden, Baylee, Nicole and Kaitlyn; along with many other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.  

The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 28  from 2:00-3:00 PM at Carlisle Funeral Home, Tarboro, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Edgewood Free Will Baptist Church, 680 Edgewood Church Rd. Macclesfield, North Carolina.
