James Henry Brown (Henry), 84, of Pinetops, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, October 8, 2023. He was born on March 1, 1939 in Edgecombe County to Joseph Carl Brown and Virginia Galloway Brown.
Henry & Elaine ran the former Brown's Triangle Service Station and Grill for many years, where they made many lifelong friends. In his free time, Henry enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing bluegrass music, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a longtime member of Maccripine FWB Church. Henry was dedicated to his community and was a member of the St. Lewis Ruritan Club where he served on the board in many ways.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, J.C. Brown, Maynard Brown, and John Ivey Brown, and a sister, Nancy Brown Nobles.
Henry is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Elaine Baker Brown, and children, James Henry Brown, Jr. and wife, Brenda, of Tarboro, Amy Brown Johnson and husband, Don, of Wilson, Donald Brown of Macclesfield, and Donna Kay Brown Boseman and husband, Johnny, of Wilson; grandchildren, Joshua Boseman and wife, Morgan, of Sims, Donnie Johnson and wife, Rachael, of Bailey, Sarah J. Peede and husband, Josh, of Wilson, Carol Anne Brown of Pinetops, Caleb Boseman and wife, Bethany, of Stantonsburg, Molly Johnson of Wilson, Rebecca Boseman of Wilson; great grandchildren, Stephen Johnson, Amy Rose Johnson, Henry Peede, Benjamin Peede, and Cali Boseman, and a sister, Susie Williams and husband, Vernon, of Goldsboro.
Visitation and funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Maccripine FWB Church in Macclesfield. Visitation will begin at 12 noon with funeral services following at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Queen Anne Cemetery in Fountain. Pastor Allen Hall will officiate.
