Janice Ruth Boyd

Janice Ruth Boyd, 83, passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2022.

Funeral service will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Tarboro First Pentecostal Holiness Church with Pastor Jody O’Neal and Pastor Jessie Blalock officiating. Burial will follow in Edgecombe Memorial Park. 

She was born on May 10, 1939 in Edgecombe County to the late William Edward Wells and Madeleon Jones Wells. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Leslie Jerry Boyd, Jr.

She is survived by her loving family which includes her husband of 62 years, Jerry Boyd; daughter Denise Huffman; son Leslie Boyd and wife Melanie; grandchildren, Leslie David Boyd, Jr., Danielle Nicole Doughtie, Christina Marie Huffman, Haley Boyd Huffman, Brandon Leslie Huffman; great-grandchildren, David Kegan Boyd, Dustin Wade Doughtie, Jace Cole Doughtie; siblings, Evelyn Blanchard Sutton, Robert Earl Wells, Addie Elizabeth Suggs, and Betty Jean Lynn.

Janice enjoyed worshiping with the Lord and her church family. She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren who were the light of her life. She will be missed dearly by those who love her.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11:00-12:00 PM at Tarboro First Pentecostal Holiness Church.
