Jean Roberson Denton passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021 at her home with her family at her side.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, April 29, 2021, 2:00 pm First Baptist Church, Tarboro with Pastor Lamont Hemminger and Pastor John Rosal officiating. Burial will follow in Edgecombe Memorial Park.
Jean was born to Herman and Blanche Roberson in Winston-Salem, N.C. Including her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her precious husband of 50 years, Willie E. Denton, Jr., son, Willie E. “Eddie” Denton, III, grandson, Joshua Denton, brother, Kenneth L. Roberson.
She is survived by her loving family, including daughter, Anne D. Weeks, son-in-law, Brent Weeks granddaughters, Tabitha Fountain and her husband, Brandon, Jeanna Frisk and her husband, Nick; great grandsons, Wesley, Landon and Brandon Fountain, Joshua Adams, Nathan Denton and Everett Frisk; sister, Phyllis Hoots and her husband, Jimmy; brother, Reginald Roberson and his wife, Donna; sister-in-law, Norma Roberson.
The family will always be eternally grateful to Jean’s caregivers who attended to her every need for the last several weeks, Mae Melton, Jennie Pollard, Christy Flores, Peggy Hollis and Tammy Whitley. The family would also like to thank Kindred Hospice for their support during these difficult times.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:30 - 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Tarboro First Baptist Church, or one’s favorite charity.
