Mr. Jeffrey Wayne Acree, 75, passed away in Nash General Hospital on Friday, January 11, 2019.

He was born in Edgecombe County on December 17, 1943 to Simon Dexter Acree and Margaret Fann Acree.

Jeff served in the United States Coast Guard and was honorably discharged after 4 years of dedicated service. He later became an insurance salesman for many years. He enjoyed being with friends and family, especially his grandchildren. He loved to make people laugh. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Brenda Acree.

Jeff is survived in death by his son Jeffrey Wayne Acree, Jr.,and daughter-in-law Elaine Acree; and grandchildren William Acree and Maggie Acree of Sims; his two sisters, Judy Porter of Charlotte and Joy Acree of Tarboro; step-sons, Stacy and Tracy Glover and their families.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Carlisle Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 from 1:00-2:00pm, with a memorial service following at 2:00pm in the chapel.

Graveside service will be held Sunday, January 20, 2019, 2:00 pm, Greenwood Cemetery.
