Joyce Brown Fellows

Mrs. Joyce Brown Fellows passed away peacefully on November 23, 2020. She was 84 years of age. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Lucia Brown and her husband of 57 years, Robert Fellows.

Joyce was born on May 1, 1936. She was the beloved only child of Joseph George and Lucia Nanney Brown. She grew up in Edgecombe County and graduated from Tarboro High School in 1954. After completing business school, Joyce worked with the Edgecombe County Health Department and the North Carolina Department of Probation. She retired from the Edgecombe County Manager’s Office in 1990.

On June 15, 1958, Joyce married Robert Stanley Fellows of Arcanum, Ohio, and raised their three daughters in Tarboro. Joyce loved spending time with her family and was a devoted daughter, wife, and mother. She loved the Lord and was a long-standing member of Trinity Baptist Church.

Joyce loved shopping and relaxing with her adored dog Amie. She was a die-hard New York Yankees fan and loved watching the games on television. She was happiest when she was decorating her home, especially at Christmas.

She was known for her outgoing personality, sense of humor, compassionate spirit and determination, and could brighten any room with her smile.

Joyce is survived by her three daughters Beverly J. Fellows, Karen M. Fellows and Susan A. Fellows, all of Tarboro. 

A celebration of Joyce’s life will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Edgecombe Memorial Park in Tarboro with Dr. Jordon Willard officiating.
