Karen Beth Neal Proctor is with her Lord and Savior today. She was the daughter of Eugene and Gilberta Neal who preceded her in arrival in the Kingdom, and sister to Cheri Neal Twiss, Brent Neal, who also preceded her into the Kingdom, and Theron D. Neal. She leaves behind her husband of more than fifty years Nelson Glenn Proctor of Temperance Hall, NC, their daughter Rebecca Huber, and her husband Brent and children Belle, Ellie and Anya, son Jesse Proctor, his wife Malorie and children Naomi, Rhea and Sam and daughter Anna, and her husband Paul and their children Giles and Sebastian.
Graveside service will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, October 16, 2023 at Edgecombe Memorial Park with Rev. Michael Bryan officiating.
Karen was steadfast in love for her family and unwavering in her trust in God. She was a homemaker and home was where she was happiest. To most people she appeared quiet and reserved, but to those who knew her well, she was quick to make her thoughts and opinions known (and she was usually right.). She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh, finding humor in the small things that make up a day and she was not above creating mischief and then watching the results. Her children and grandchildren's lives were a huge part of her life and one in which she took nearly endless interest. And for more than fifty years she was the center of the universe for her husband, Glenn.
So many people have shown great kindness during Karen's illness and for this the family is deeply grateful but a special thanks must be said to the nurses and staff at Wilson Hospice, Tiffany especially. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to bbnradio.org.
Visitation will be at 1:00 - 2:00 PM on Monday, October 16, 2023 at Carlisle Funeral Home.
