Lester Vaughn Eason, 76, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2020 at home.
He was born on August 31, 1943 in Morganfield, Kentucky to Lester Lee and Mildred Heath Eason. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Thomas Lee Eason.
Lester graduated from Tarboro High School in 1961. Upon graduation, at age 17, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force from July 6, 1961 thru July 2, 1965. Upon discharge he continued his career as a cable splicer; working with private contractors, major telephone companies and even had his own company for a while. His work took him to many states but Texas was his home most of his adult life. For the last 12 years he made his home in Enfield, NC with his brother Billy. During his retirement years he enjoyed gardening for a while but his passion was painting. He was always eager to entice the younger kids to draw and paint.
He is survived by his son Mark Vaughn Eason and wife Kathy, grandchildren Kourtney, Lexi, Bethany, Daniel and wife Stephanie, Bekka Stickel and husband Jeffery, and great grandchild Peter Stickel. Brothers Johnny and Gay Eason of Ahoskie, NC, Billy Eason of St. Mary’s, GA, Ricky and Pam Eason of Mt. Vernon, KY, Ronnie and Mia Eason of Tarboro, NC. Sisters Brenda and Bill Adkins of Rocky Mount, NC and Gloria Jean and Casey Lyndaker of Tarboro, NC.
A service will be held Friday, June 26, 2020 at 2:00pm at Carlisle Funeral Home, 701 Hospital Drive, Tarboro, NC 27886. Visitation will follow.
