Lotis Brewer Obituary

Lotis Brewer, 85, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2020.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 8, at Northern Boulevard Baptist Church with the Reverend Exum Harrell officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM at the church. Burial will follow in Edgecombe Memorial Park. 

Lotis was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Jean Batts Brewer, and grandson Robert “Robbie” Brewer, father Otis Brewer, mother Dorothy Turner Brewer and brother Claudius Brewer.

Lotis is survived by and those left to cherish his memory are his four children; Susan Lamm (husband Tommy Lamm) of Fountain, N.C., Sons Joe Brewer (wife Janet Taylor Brewer), David Brewer (wife Kathy Johnson Brewer) and Rodney Brewer (wife Lorri Stocks Brewer) all of Tarboro, N.C., grandchildren Keith Brewer (wife Alana Bagley Brewer) of Walstonburg, Jimmy Lamm of Fountain, NC., Blake Brewer of Tarboro, N.C., and one great-grandson Noah Brewer of Walstonburg. Lotis also leaves one sister Barbara Bozelle (husband Frank Bozelle), and one brother Kenneth “Kenny” Brewer (wife April Rogers Brewer) sister-in-law Hellen Brewer Manning. Lotis leaves a host of nieces and nephews to also cherish his memory.

Lotis leaves extended family members to cherish his memory including; Ray and Anna Moll of Hubert, N.C., Allen and Barbara Smith of Shine, N.C. and Hazel and Jerry Wilson of Tarboro, N.C. Lotis was a family man and any and all were always welcomed in his home and in his heart.

Lotis was a 50 year plus employee of Long Manufacturing, N.C., Inc. where he enjoyed working with and building tooling that supported the manufacturing processes. He retired from Long Manufacturing, N.C., Inc. and continued working at Walmart for an additional 11 years. He always shared a hug and a handshake with all that entered. He loved his Walmart family and his friends that visited him on a regular basis.

Lotis loved Softball, fishing, and camping. He always wanted family and friends to share with him and be a part of these experiences that he loved so much. Lotis loved his Church and Church family, but his greatest love was his love for God. After being Baptized his love for God grew and grew and you could see that love in his face when he shared his testimony with any that would listen. He was a true man of God, loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle to all.

The family will receive friends and relatives at other times at the home of Rodney and Lori Brewer, 1701 Preston Drive, Tarboro, N.C. 27886.
