Michael John Miracco

Michael John Miracco, 62 years of age, passed away in his family home on Wednesday, January 19th, 2022, at 5:00 pm.

Michael had his master’s degree and worked for the New York Department of Health in Manhattan post-university. In his later years, he would spend his time as a stay-at-home father to his three children, and husband to his wife. He always made sure to make his home the warmest, safest, and most welcoming environment that anyone could ever ask for.

He loved his sports and continued to play and be involved in them for as long as he possibly could. Michael played baseball well into his 40s, and even coached little league teams on Long Island for several years. When he and his son no longer would play team sports, he supported his son’s love for skateboarding like no one could believe. Michael’s passion for the New York Yankees led him to create a legendary Facebook fan community that would become a second family to him.

He was a family man, loyal to anyone and everyone who ever showed him an inch of kindness and respect. He liked control, but at times just could not say no. Michael was larger than life, and enjoyed the little things, just as much as the big, significant moments. Whether it was going on a stroll down the street or watching the Yankees win the World Series, he saw the importance in celebrating every good thing that came with his time on this Earth.

Michael’s legacy continues by his wife Laura Miracco, son Michael Miracco II and daughters Lisa Miracco and Megan Miracco, grandsons Mateo Miracco and Mason Miracco, brothers Robert Miracco, Thomas Miracco, and Edward Miracco, and loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, and close friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held to honor Michael at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 26th, 2022 at Carlisle Funeral Home in Tarboro, NC. Visitation with the family will be at the funeral home from 1:00 PM-until service time.
