Mitchell Warren Mangum

Mitchell Warren Mangum, 70, of Harker’s Island, NC passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at his daughter’s home in Tarboro, NC.

Mitch will be forever remembered by his mother, Dorothy Clayton, of Roxboro; devoted wife of 43 years, Jo Ann Mangum, of Harker’s Island; daughter, Tiffany Jo Cayton, and husband, Chad, of Tarboro; grandson, William Shephard Cayton; and brother, Virgil Clayton, and wife Diane, of Roxboro.

Mitch was predeceased by his father, Robert Clayton. Mitch will also be forever remembered by his extended family and dear friends.

Mitch was born October 2, 1947, in Roxboro, NC.  He had a successful career with IBM and after 45 years retired to start managing Jo Ann Vacation Rentals over the last 14 years. He was an active member of his community and was appointed to the Carteret Community College Board of Trustees in 2009 and served as Chairman from 2012-2016.

A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Ann Street United Methodist Church, 417 Ann St., Beaufort, NC 28516. Followed by a reception from Noon until 2:00 pm post service at Beaufort Grocery, 117 Queen St., Beaufort, NC.
