Oscar Leon Davis

On Wednesday, November 23, 2022, after a long, fought battle with liver cancer, our Lord and Savior called Leon home.

He was preceded in death by his parents Betty and Matthew Davis and two brothers George and Stuart.

Leon is survived by his wife of 57 years Rena Coker Davis of the home, daughter Zelphia Davis Pittman (Marty) of Tarboro, son Matthew Thomas Davis (Tina) of Tarboro and (6) grandchildren; Michael T Pittman, Austin R Pittman (Abby Williams), Jason Knox, Thomas Davis and Emma Davis. He is also survived by many in-laws, cousins, nieces & nephews.

Leon was a farmer and Edgecombe County Deputy Sheriff where he served the citizens of Edgecombe County for thirty plus years. He enjoyed his time with his grandchildren and church family and friends and traveling with his wife prior to becoming sick.

The family would like to thank Vidant Cancer Center and Kindred Hospice Service for its dedicated and caring help during the past several months.

The Family will receive friends at the home located at 1802 Raccoon Branch Rd. of Tarboro. Funeral services will be held at Word of Life International Church located on McNair Road Saturday, November 26, 2022. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm followed by a memorial service at 2:00 pm.
