Peter Craig Willis

Peter Craig Willis transitioned to his heavenly home on December 25, 2021.

He was born in Rocky Mount (NC) Sanitorium on May 21, 1960 to Naomi and Granville Willis Sr. Both parents, sister (Beth Anne), brother (Jesse), nephew Jonathan Wellendorf, niece Vickie Willis, and brother-in-law Gene Edmonds, Jr are among those loved ones who were there to welcome Peter Craig home.

He is survived by brother Jim Willis (Judy), sister Sarah Wellendorf (Jan), brother Mike Willis (Becky), sister Holly Willis (Gene), along with an abundance of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews who had an immeasurable connection with their Uncle Craig, leaving behind a hole the size of his personality.

Craig, Peter, Peter Craig, Uncle Craig, PC, Borilla loved to crack jokes and loved to make people laugh. He was a huge animal lover, especially dogs and loved figuring out how to get them to love him back.

He attended Rocky Mount Senior High School and graduated in 1979. He worked in California, Arizona, Florida and North Carolina throughout his time here, making many lifelong friends.

With his tremendous and caring heart Craig greatly loved his family and friends. Later in his life he struggled with various health issues and worked hard to keep a positive attitude. His compassion, corny jokes, wisdom, warm hugs and positive spirit will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held at Carlisle Funeral Home, (Tarboro) on Friday, December 31, 2021 at 2:00 PM.

There will be no graveside service as Craig wished to be cremated. Visitors can stop by the home(s) of by whom they knew Craig. At Craig’s request, donations can be made to The American Heart Association, The American Cancer Society, The American Diabetes Association or The American Alzheimer’s Association.
