Reather Knox Bryant

Reather K. Bryant affectionally known as Grandma passed away at Vidant Medical Center August 27, 2021.

 Funeral service will be Wednesday September 1, 2021, at 11:00 A.M. at Carlisle Funeral Home, Tarboro, NC with Pastor Jay Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Edgecombe Memorial Park.

Reather was preceded in death by her husband George Alton Bryant; son, Ronnie Eugene Bryant; granddaughter, Anastasia Vasquez; sisters, Brenda K. Ruffin, and Jeanette Warren; brothers, James R., Elmer Lee, Jesse and Grover Knox, Jr. and two great grandchildren lost during pregnancies with Alma Peguero.

She was survived by her daughter, Bonnie Bryant (Jose Peguero) and their children, Francisco Raya Jr., Alma Peguero (Trey Derby), Jose Peguero (Lauren Johnson), and great grandchildren, Ayvah Raya and Amelia Peguero; daughter Patricia Melendez and her children, Timothy Denton (Ashley Denton), Ana Melendez(Kevin Harris) Juan Melendez (Tabitha Johnson) and great grandchildren, Alexander L. Denton, Emerson Williams, and Kayden Melendez. A special niece, Brandy Edmondson (Bobby) and their children Shianna, Hannah and Payten which she loved as her grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday August 31, 2021, at 6:00 P.M – 8:00 P.M. at Carlisle Funeral Home, Tarboro, NC, and other times at Brandy Edmondson house 105 Sam’s St., Tarboro, NC.
