Richard Franklin "Frank" Nichols

Richard Franklin Nichols 86, born September 14, 1933 in Greensboro, NC to Sara Stack and Claude Franklin Nichols passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2020.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father and brothers, Charles and Jimmy Nichols.

He is survived by his nephews, Eddy Nichols (Cindy), Bobby Nichols (Kim) and a host of great nieces, nephews and sister-in-law Faye H. Nichols.

Frank lived in Florida and when his stepfather George Huber passed, he moved to North Carolina to live with Charles and Faye in Robersonville in 1999.

Frank was raised an Episcopalian. During his life he attended many different denominations settling in at First Free Will Baptist Church in Tarboro. Frank showed his belief of God by nightly kneeling by his bed to talk to Him. He was always kind, had a smile for all and a special place in his heart for children. Always doing his part in the Shoe Box Mission.

Overcoming his physical challenges, he managed 12 lawns while he lived in Florida. Other jobs held were in a nursery and a dime store. For a while he helped Carolyn Newton. Wanting to do more he would also help clean up after the up-ward ballgames. Frank never missed a day in that he would ask me “What can I do for you today?’

He would spend many hours enjoying Hallmark movies. Another enjoyment of his was visiting his niece and family (Deb) in Franklin, Tennessee, and his cousin Tim and Bar in Oklahoma. Frank will be truly missed.

A memorial service will be at First Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, 3150 Western Blvd., Tarboro, NC on Saturday, September 26th, 2020 at 11:00 AM with John Henry Chapman officiating. All are invited.
