Robert "Bobby" Lee King, Jr

Robert "Bobby" Lee King, Jr., 67, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 19, 2020 with his family by his side. He was a beloved daddy, papa, brother, uncle, and friend. Bobby was born December 17, 1952 in Pitt County to Robert "Rob" Lee King, Sr. and Mabel Louise Stokes King.

He was a dedicated employee of Barnhill Contracting Company for 47 years until he became unable to work in the fall of 2018.

Bobby enjoyed racing, fishing, and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by his family and countless friends.

Robert "Bobby" Lee King, Jr. was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his daughter, Melissa Lee King Barfield and her husband Kenneth, but as Bobby would tell anyone Kenneth was his son not his son-in-law; and his beautiful granddaughter, the apple of his eye, Lucy Makayla Barfield all of Rocky Mount, sister, Ann King Proctor and husband Albert of Tarboro, brother, William "Bill" Henry King and wife Cindy of Mocksville, former wife and lifelong friend, Trudy Lee Trevathan, and caring neighbor, Jackie Knight.

A Celebration of Bobby's life will be held Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of Carlisle Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Hendricks officiating with a graveside service to follow at Edgecombe Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
