Robison Jay Baker (RobBaker) passed away peacefully in his home in Rocky Mount, NC on May 15th, 2023 at the age of 60.
Rob was born April 30, 1963 to Clarence and Ruth Baker of Madisonville KY, Hopkins County.
Rob graduated from North Hopkins Highschool in Madisonville, KY and studied at the Community College there. He then transferred to the University of Southern Indiana, and received his Masters of Business Administration from Murray State University in 2010. He was an accomplished Healthcare Administrator having worked for Wake Med, Lifepoint, and Duke Health. For the past 4 years, Rob has worked as a Healthcare Administrator for Duke Primary Care in Henderson, NC. Rob’s staff adored and loved him. They describe him as a jovial person who would always lend an ear to talk.
He left behind his loving husband, Michael Morris, and his beloved dog Bam Bam, his stepsons Tim, Daniel, and Tyler Morris, their wives, and grandchildren. Although the marriage was cut short, it was full of happiness and wonderful memories. He also leaves behind siblings, Linda (Ninna), Connie, Joan, and Tom all residing back home in Kentucky.
Rob was full of life and had truly meaningful friendships that started in grade school on his first cookie break! His friendships were a huge part of his life, there are too many to name, but two in particular were very special. Ruby and Missy weren’t just friends but chosen family.
Rob not only collected friends, but also collected all kinds of things! He has collections of Fiestaware, teapots, antiques, and artwork from every corner of the country. Rob loved auctions, and automobiles.
He was bright, humorous, caring, thoughtful, and one of a kind. To have known him was to love him. You will be missed tremendously Rob Baker!
There will be a Celebration of Life at his residence, 3213 Woodlawn Road in Rocky Mount on June 4th at 4:00pm. Please come celebrate Rob’s life with us.
