Roxanne graduated from Hobgood Academy in 1974. She worked alongside her mother and sister for years at Paul Bruce in Scotland Neck, where anyone who knew her would agree that she was lively and friendly with a laugh that was undeniably contagious. Fond memories shared between Roxanne and her “middle” sister, Amy, include countless weekend trips to Atlantic Beach, NC.
Roxanne is preceded in death by her parents, Rodney Lathan Butler and Hazel Hardee Butler. She is survived by her husband of nearly 42 years, Don Wilson Crawford; son, Don Wilson “Will” Crawford, Jr.; sisters, Terry Waters and Amy Alexander; and numerous nieces and nephews. Roxanne leaves behind a beloved dog, BoBo.
Roxanne was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed spending time with her husband and son, as well as friends who grew to consider Roxanne a sister. This special group of friends, known as “The T-town Tipsies”, will cherish memories made from sharing time in leisure and travel with Roxanne. Roxanne’s laughter continued to “light up a room”. Even during her toughest times, Roxanne always found a way to make anyone smile. Her sweet smile and kindness will be missed by many. Roxanne fought a hard fight, but her friends and family find comfort in knowing that she has walked into the Gates of Heaven and gained her wings. She was truly loved by many.
