Walter Rose Keel, 60, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2020.

Funeral service will be held at 3:30pm on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Carlisle Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Holden officiating. Interment will follow at Edgecombe Memorial Park. 

Walter was born in Nash County on February 9, 1959 to Earl and Louise Keel.

Walter loved the outdoors, whether it was fishing or spending time at the camper with his family. He was also a small engine repairman.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Leggett; and brother, Tommy Keel.

He is survived by his wife Joan Keel; son, Walter Lee Keel and Stephannie; daughter, Amy Keel Harris; step-son, Jeff and Bridgette Collier; step-daughter, Angela and Jeff Hucks; 13 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers, James and Addie Keel; Alton and Julie Keel; David and Robin Keel; his 2 fur babies, Chase and Choco.

The family will receive friends and relatives on Friday night from 7:00-9:00pm at Carlisle Funeral Home.
