William Myrick Obituary

William Lewis “Skip” Myrick was a man who wholeheartedly loved his family and friends. A true jokester, Skip's adventurous spirit, charming personality, genuine smile, and laugh were contagious to those lucky enough to have known him. He never met a stranger, nor was he ever at a loss for words. Skip possessed a strong work ethic and was the world's best repairman, always finding the time to help his family. A truly selfless soul, Skip took pride in serving and helping others. An avid lover of beach music, The Great Smokey Mountains, the Carolina Tarheels, and the Dallas Cowboys, Skip lived for time spent with his family enjoying the things he loved such as, vacationing or simply spending a quiet evening cooking with his family. No matter the occasion, boisterous laughter was guaranteed with Skip. He also had a love for waterskiing, boating, and ATVs. Skip was a faithful son, beloved brother, and devoted uncle to a host of nieces and nephews, whom he loved and cared for as his own. As the eldest son, he instilled wisdom and life lessons, serving as a father figure in the eyes of his siblings, nieces, and nephews.

Skip was preceded in death by his father, Maryland "Bubber" Myrick as well as his uncles, Julian Thompson, Bo Thompson, and Kenny Thompson. He leaves to cherish fond memories, his mother, Lorraine Myrick of Tarboro; sister, Susan Myrick of Tarboro; brothers, Kenny Myrick (Kristina) of Nashville, TN and Kevin Myrick (Heather) of Pinetops; nieces, Di’ana Worrells, Kristen Worrells, Avery Myrick, Katlyn Myrick, Cyla Pierce (Cole), and Harley Abrams; nephews, Cade Myrick, Gray Myrick, Nate Webb, Chandler Myrick (Amanda Smith), Jarin Abrams, and Chance Myrick; and a multitude of aunts, cousins, friends, and coworkers.  Skip also leaves behind his loyal, rescued companions, Wallace Wilson, Gabby, Maggie, Lola, and Izzy.
