William L. Miller Jr

William L. Miller Jr., 69, known to his family and friends as Billy, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2022. 

The family will receive friends at Carlisle Funeral Home on Friday, April 1, 2022 from 6:00-8:00 PM. After the visitation, the family will be meeting at 8189 US Hwy. 258 South, Pinetops, NC 27864.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and William L. Miller Sr. and his brother, Wallace Miller.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Anita (Tina) Alvez-Miller, his daughters, Renee Mayo (Jason), Cheryl Miller, and Elizabeth Norris (Lynn), sons, Dana Alvez (Tara) and Hawkins Crisp.  Grandchildren, Candice Daniels, Brandon Daniels, Kacie Manning, Adam Mayo, Tyler Mayo, Kali Norris, Audrianna Alvez, and Gianna Alvez. Great-grandchildren, Austin Bradshaw, Devin Bradshaw, and Thomas Armstrong. Sister, Debra Mansfield (Martin), several nieces and nephews and his fur baby, Dixie.

Billy served in the US Army as a Combat Engineer for over 10 years with a tour overseas and his last duty station being in Fort Belvoir, Virginia. He was born in Anson County, NC on June 23, 1952, but spent most of his life in Rocky Mount. 

Billy enjoyed fishing in Kure Beach, trips to Erie, Pennsylvania to see his grandchildren, and taking cruises with his wife along with being the best Christmas shopping buddy with his daughter Beth. He was goofy, never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. He loved his job, his co-workers, and the contractors at Builder’s First Source in Roanoke Rapids.
