William Andrew "Dru" Sexton, Jr., 60, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2019.

The family will receive friends at Carlisle Funeral Home on Sunday, September 22, from 1:00-2:00 p.m. with a graveside following at 2:00 p.m. in Edgecombe Memorial Park.

Dru was born in Pitt County to William Andrew Sexton and Carolyn Everett Sexton. He was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn E. Sexton.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, father, William A. “Bill” Sexton; sister, Sheila Sexton Gomez and husband Marco, brothers, Joe Sexton and wife Cynthia, Michael Sexton; also sisters, April Sexton; Jennifer Sexton, Joy Hines and husband Brandon; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Dru enjoyed life to the fullest. He was always happy and carefree. You never saw him without a smile on his face and trying to make others smile and laugh with his jokes. He always had a positive attitude and never a bad word for anyone. From his early days until his passing he loved super heroes. Batman was his favorite; he even had the costume that he wore to bring smiles to others, especially his caretakers. His favorite food was chocolate fudge with a glass of milk. He loved his country, the American Flag and what it represented. Dru had an infectious personality that will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
